Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Chicken Name Template

Instructions

  • Open the template in Adobe Reader, type the child's letters onto the egg letter page, and print out the template. Alternatively, you can write the letters onto the eggs.
  • Begin by gluing the eye pieces just below the eyebrows, lining them up to fit inside the lashes.
  • Glue the beak just below the eyes, centered in the middle.
  • Use a marker to color in the tongue.
  • Glue the comb piece to the top of the chicken’s head.
  • Use a marker to draw small curved lines on the body to create feather details. Draw feather lines on the tail feathers.
  • Arrange the letter eggs to spell your child’s name across the chicken’s chest, then glue each egg in place.
  • Glue the nest piece along the bottom of the chicken so it sits in front of the eggs.
  • Finally, use a marker to draw lines on the nest to add texture.
