Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Dragonfly Handprint Template

Instructions

  • Print the template and gather the materials for this fun activity.
  • Begin by gluing the eye pieces onto the head, above the smile.
  • Glue the head onto the top edge of the thorax (middle piece).
  • Next, glue the abdomen (bottom piece) under the thorax to complete the body.
  • Trace your child’s hands on paper and cut them out to create the handprint wings.
  • Glue the handprints behind the head and thorax (middle piece) so they spread evenly on both sides.
  • Cut a pipe cleaner in half and curl the ends of the pipe cleaner pieces to form the antennae.
  • Finally, tape the antennae to the back and top of the head.
