Materials

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Elephant template

Instructions

  • Download the elephant template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin to make the puppet by glue the eyes in the middle of the elephant head.
  • Next, take the trunk and glue it in between and slightly overlapping the eyes.
  • Place the cheeks on the outside of the eyes and glue them down.
  • Create the ears by gluing the darker inner ears to the lighter outer ears.
  • Glue the completed ears, one on each side, to the back of the elephant head.
  • Take the completed elephant head and glue it to the flap portion of the brown paper bag.
  • Make the elephant's legs by gluing the nails to the bottom of the feet.
  • Next, place the feet on the elephant's body and glue them in place. We angled our slightly inward and cut off the excess paper that hung off the sides.
  • Finish making the elephant by gluing the body to the main part of the brown paper bag.
