Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker
  • White paint pen or Crayola Bold & Bright marker
  • Groundhog Template

Instructions

  • Print the template and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Glue the eyes below each eyebrow.
  • Next, draw a small rectangular tooth under the smile, using the white paint pen or marker.
  • Glue the ear circles onto both sides and the back of the head.
  • Now, glue the belly oval piece in the center of the rectangular body.
  • Next, glue the arm pieces on both sides of the top of the belly so they angle inward.
  • Using a dark brown marker, draw curved paw lines at the bottom of each arm.
  • Cut straight slits into the rectangular grass piece to create fringe, making sure not to cut all the way down and keeping it as one piece.
  • Next, glue the grass piece along the bottom of the groundhog's body.
  • Glue the groundhog's head to the top of the body.
  • Optionally, finish by drawing a thin vertical line down the center of the tooth with a black marker.
