Materials

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Tape
  • Gingerbread House Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by coloring the candy and house pieces if using the color-in version.
  • Next, glue the door piece to the bottom center of the paper bag.
  • Glue the window above the door.
  • Then, glue the candy canes on each side of the door.
  • Gently fold the top of the paper bag to the back.
  • Glue the roof piece across the folded top of the bag.
  • Next, glue the peppermint decoration to the center of the roof.
  • Finish by decorating the rest of the house with remaining candy cutouts.
  • Fill the bag with packing paper or small rocks so the house can stand upright. Flip the bag over and tape or glue the back of the folded top to hold it in place.
