Materials

  • Paper plates
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pilgrim template

Instructions

  • Download the pilgrim template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Paint a paper plate in 1-2 thin coats of skin-colored paint. Let dry completely before moving on.
  • Begin to create the hat by gluing the hat band to the base of the hat. Trim off any paper that hangs off the sides.
  • Place the outer buckle in the middle of the hat band, then glue the inner buckle to the middle of the outer buckle.
  • Next, glue the hat to the top of the hair.
  • Position the eyes near the middle of the paper plate and glue one on each side.
  • Glue the mouth in the middle of the plate, just below the eyes.
  • Take the tongue and glue it to the bottom of the mouth.
  • Next, glue the cheeks on both sides of the mouth.
  • Use a black marker to draw on the pilgrim's nose, just below the eyes.
  • Finish up by gluing the hair and hat piece to the top of the paper plate, so the hair hangs on top of the eyes.
