Begin by gluing one paper strip vertically in the center of the background.

Next, glue the remaining paper strips around the center strip to form a circular apple shape.

Glue the stem to the top center of the apple.

Then glue the leaf next to the stem.

Glue the eyes slightly below the leaf near the top center of the apple.

Grab the mouth and glue below the cheeks.

Then, glue the tongue inside the mouth.

Finish by gluing the cheeks under each of the eyes.
