Materials

  • Brown Paper Bag
  • Scissors
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Turtle template

Instructions

  • Download the turtle template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Optionally: If you want the background of your puppet to have a color, glue the flap background portion and the main portion onto the brown paper bag.
  • Begin to create the turtle's face by gluing the eyes just above the mouth.
  • Glue the cheeks below the eyes.
  • Take the completed turtle head and glue it in the middle of the flap portion of the brown paper bag.
  • Next, create the turtle's body by gluing the arms almost to the top of the shell.
  • Place the legs on the bottom of the shell, with about an inch of them hanging off the shell. Glue it in place.
  • Glue the belly in the middle of the shell so it's overlapping the arms and legs.
  • Take the completed body and glue it to the main portion of the brown paper bag.
