Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Tape
  • Watermelon Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Start by attaching the rind piece on top of the watermelon skin, leaving some of the skin showing at the bottom edge.
  • Next, place the fruit piece above the rind and press it down firmly.
  • Now glue the eyes above the mouth.
  • Twist one pipe cleaner to create a hand shape.
  • Flip the watermelon craft over and position the first pipe cleaner arm on the back.
  • Secure the arm in place using tape.
  • Repeat the process with the second pipe cleaner arm on the other side and tape it down.
  • Next, bend two pipe cleaners to form the legs.
  • Position the legs at the bottom of the back side of the craft.
  • Finish by taping both legs securely in place.
