Butterflies are one of the few insects that most kids love!
They’re beautiful and fun to watch. In fact, many states have butterfly gardens that kids just can’t get enough of.
If your child loves them just as much, they’ll want to make this butterfly stick puppet. It’s a simple craft that kids can play with when they’re done making it.

Popsicle Stick Butterfly Puppet

Supplies
- Jumbo popsicle stick
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Markers or crayons (if using the color in version)
- Tape
- Butterfly template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)
Directions
Download the butterfly template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Place the butterfly’s body in the middle of the wings and glue it in place.

Glue the eyes in the middle of the head with part of the outside portion hanging off the head.

Create the butterfly wing decorations by gluing the smaller ovals to the bottom of the bigger ovals, then use scissors to trim off the excess paper.

Position the wing decorations on the wings and glue them in place.

Take the antennae and glue them to the back of the head.

Flip the butterfly over and place the jumbo popsicle stick on the back and tape it in place.

Now your child has a cute butterfly puppet they can play with!
