Fall is a great time to come inside and have the kids craft!

This popsicle stick scarecrow craft is not only fun but it’s also a great creative outlet for your little one.

This craft will help kids learn to follow directions and get excited about fall. The best part about this activity is that you can use items you already have around the house, making it easy and inexpensive.

Craft Stick Scarecrow

Supplies

• Popsicle sticks
• Glue dots
• Scissors
• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Markers
• Paint
• Paintbrush
• Scarecrow template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the scarecrow template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Cut a popsicle stick into thirds with the scissors. Line up 5 popsicle sticks evenly. Stretch out three glue dots to go onto the back of each of the cut popsicle sticks. Use this to secure the 4 popsicle sticks together.

If you don’t want to use glue dots, replace them with hot glue and do the same steps as above.

Paint a little less than 1/2 of the popsicle sticks in a cream or tan color. Paint the rest of the popsicle sticks red. Let dry completely before moving on.

Next, take the eyes and glue them in the middle of the cream portion of the popsicle sticks.

Draw a patch on the scarecrow’s hat with a dark brown marker, then use a thin, black marker to draw stitch lines around the patch.

Glue a few pieces of the scarecrow’s hair to the back of the hat.

Place the hat on the top of the cream portion of the popsicle sticks and glue it in place.

Use an orange marker to draw on a triangle nose in between and just below the eyes.

Next, use a black marker to draw on the mouth, just below the nose.

Position the overalls so that the top of them is in line with the red portion you painted on.

Finish off by coloring in the buttons and pocket on the scarecrow’s overalls.

Now your child has a fun scarecrow that they’ll love to show off!
