More Winter Ideas For Kids

History of the Groundhog

While making this simple craft with the kids, it’s always a great idea to talk with them about the history of the groundhog “Phil”.

You can explain to the kids if he sees his shadow we will have 6 more weeks of winter. If he does not, spring will come sooner.

We also like to poll the kids to see if they think “Phil” will see his shadow or if spring will come sooner. Most of them usually pick early spring coming because they are hopeful of sunny days playing outside.
