Supplies
- Colored card stock (most likely in shades of pink, purple and blue)
- White card stock
- Markers
- Glue stick (this is our favorite type)
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Unicorn craft template (download form located at the end of the page)
Direction
Download the unicorn craft template, print and cut out the pieces.
Trace your child’s hand onto the colored paper that they want to be the unicorn’s body. Cut out the handprint.
Take the head piece and glue it on top of the thumb.
Glue the unicorn’s horn to the top, middle part of the head.
Place the top mane piece on the unicorn’s head until it lines up along the back of the head and secure with glue.
Put the bottom main piece so it meets the top mane piece and flows down the “neck” area. Glue this piece in place.
Take the unicorn’s ear and glue it at the place with the two mane pieces meet.
Glue the unicorn’s mane to the pinky end of the palm.
Use the markers to decorate the unicorn’s back end with hearts or stars.
Draw on the unicorn’s hooves with the marker.
That’s all you need to do to create your very own magically adorable handprint unicorn!
The steps we listed above for decorating the unicorn are just the beginning of what you can do with it.
If your kids love all things glitter, why not add some glitter or use glitter glue for decorative accents. You can also use rhinestone stickers or anything else your child can dream up!
Just take a trip down the craft aisle and find your favorite decorations to use.
Unicorn Handprint Card
We also want to mention that it’s super simple to turn this unicorn into a handprint card. Instead of just tracing your child’s hand onto the paper in the middle of the card stock, you’ll want follow these steps:
- Fold the colored paper in half “hamburger style”.
- Place your child’s hand so that their pinky lines up along the fold line. Cut it out, leaving the entire pinky fold line intact.
- Repeat at the steps listed above.
Now you have yourself an easy and cute unicorn handprint card!

@Sam, The template for the unicorn is not shown. There is an owl and a llama, but that's all. Is there another place I can look.
THanks
