Pirate Monkey Craft For Kids [Free Template]

Aye, mateys! Climb aboard and get ready to join the little pirates on another quest to find fun projects. 

We discovered this pirate monkey craft in our treasure chest, and think it’s the perfect activity for your animal loving little pirates.

This fun and creative craft will get your kids’ imaginations going as they think of stories of adventures they’ll encounter out at sea.

In addition to stoking their imaginations, this craft will also give kids the chance to master their use of scissors, how much glue to use, and refine their fine motor skills.

Use our free template and a few basic craft supplies to bring this pirate monkey to life. There’s also a black and white version available that’s perfect for younger kids to color in. Either one is sure to be a hit with your little monkeys, so download and print the template today!

Supplies

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Crayons or markers
  • Monkey template (enter your email in the form at the end of the post to get the template)

Directions

Download the monkey template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Begin by gluing the monkey’s face to the middle of the head.

Place the inner ears in the middle of the outer ears and glue them in place.

Next, take the eye and glue it below the left eyebrow. Take the eye patch band and glue it at an angle across where the right eye would be. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the monkey’s head. Place the eye patch on top of the band and glue it down.

Use a pink marker to draw on the monkey’s cheeks.

Glue the belly to the middle and bottom of the monkey’s body.

Make the belt by gluing the belt to the middle of the monkey’s belly. Trim off any excess paper. Glue the yellow outer buckle to the middle of the belt, then glue the black inner buckle to the middle of the outer buckle.

Next, glue the feet to the bottom of the monkey’s legs.

Place the left arm where the monkey’s shoulder would be and glue it in place. Glue the monkey’s hand to the end of the arm.

Create the right arm by gluing the arm to the back of the monkey’s shoulder, with the arm pointed upward. Glue the hand to the front of the arm.

Take the tail and glue it to the back and lower portion of the monkey’s body.

Make the pirate hat by gluing the skull and crossbones to the middle of the hat, then finish up by gluing the hat to the top of the monkey’s hat.

This pirate monkey craft is the perfect activity for your animal loving little pirates.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Crayons or markers
  • Monkey template

Instructions

  1. Download the monkey template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
