Mother’s Day Craft Idea

We just love our moms to pieces and they will always have a piece of our heart!

This cute craft is great for kids of all ages, and we make it super simple to create with our free template. This would also be a great project to do in the classroom.

Your little artists can make this craft using mom’s favorite color or stick with pink, which is always a favorite for Mother’s Day! Either way, it’s a fun way to show mom or anyone else they “love them to pieces”!

Supplies

• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Pipe cleaners
• Scissors
• Glue
• Tape
• Heart template (click the “click here to get this freebie” image at the end to open the form)

Directions

Start by downloading the heart template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity.

First, guide your kids to glue the eyes below each of the eyebrows onto the heart.

Next, have your child place the puzzle piece below the mouth and securely glue it in place on the heart.

Time to get hands-on with crafting! Take a pipe cleaner and show your kids how to shape it into three fingers, then twist the end to create a hand.

Flip the heart over and tape the arms on each side, leaving enough length to bend them like they’re holding the puzzle piece. Trim any excess pipe cleaner to keep our creation neat.

Let’s not forget about the feet! Shape the pipe cleaner into an oval to create a foot, then twist it onto the main part of the pipe cleaner.

Flip the heart back over and tape the legs in the middle of the heart. Trim off any pieces that are too long on top.

Lastly, encourage your child to get bend the arms and use one of the “fingers” to secure the hand to the edge of the puzzle piece.
