Dr. Seuss Day Thing 1 Craft

Use our step-by-step guide and printable template along with a few simple materials like colorful paper, glue, and scissors for a fun and easy craft time with the kiddos.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue

Directions
First things first, download the Thing 1 template. Once it’s downloaded, go ahead and print it out. Now before the kids can start building their projects, they’ll need to carefully cut out the pieces that they will be using.

Next up, it’s glue time! Guide your child to spread glue over a small portion of the Thing 1 background paper.

Now, let’s get creative with the red paper. Encourage your kids to tear it into small pieces. After they’re done, they can start the fun task of gluing them onto the shirt part of Thing 1.

Next, spread more glue along the hair part of the background paper. Guide your kids to tear the blue paper into small pieces, and then they can glue them on the hair part of the Thing 1.

It’s time to bring our Thing 1 to life! Position the head just above the red shirt and glue it in the middle of the shirt.

Lastly, let kids add the final touch. Finish up by gluing the Thing 1 shirt label in the center of the shirt.

Torn Paper Thing 1 Craft For Kids
It’s the perfect craft to go along with The Cat in the Hat story and dive into the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss to bring Thing 1 to life.
Materials
- Colored cardstock
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Thing 1 Template
Instructions
- Download the Thing 1 template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Begin by spreading glue over a section of the Thing 1 background paper.
- Start tearing the red paper into small pieces. Then, begin gluing them on the shirt part of the Thing 1 background paper.
- Next, start tearing the blue paper into small pieces. Then, begin gluing them on the top part of the Thing 1 background paper.
