Want a simple way to keep the kids engaged in animal-themed activities all week long? If so, we’ve got some great ideas to help you along!

Not only are they fun for kids to do, but they’re also educational!

Zoo Children’s Books

Books are a great way to get even further into a theme! On top of that, reading to kids helps them develop a stronger vocabulary and helps them learn to focus. It’s a win-win situation! Try out some of these cool books about space:

The Fascinating Animal Book For Kids is a great book for curious kiddos! Find facts on almost any animal your child is learning about. This is a great resource to have in your home library collection.

The View At The Zoo is a silly book about all the animals at the zoo. When the people come to take a look at the animals, they see all sorts of sights! But, there’s a twist to this book that you have to read for yourself and laugh about!

Giraffes Can’t Dance is a sweet and fun book about Gerald the Giraffe. He can’t dance, but doesn’t stop trying! He finally finds his own rhythm when he meets an unlikely friend.

Animal Crafts For Kids

Crafting is often seen as a frivolous activity, but it can actually be quite beneficial for young kids. For one thing, it helps to develop fine motor skills. Cutting, gluing, and sewing all require a certain amount of dexterity, and crafting gives kids a chance to practice these important skills.

In addition, crafting can also help to boost self-esteem and confidence. Seeing a finished product that they have created themselves can be a great source of pride for young kids.

And finally, crafting can be a great way for kids to express their creativity. Whether they’re painting a picture or making a popsicle stick craft, crafting provides an outlet for kids to explore their imaginations and experiment with new ideas!

Try adding in some of these fun ideas:

Alligator Paper Bag Puppet – This alligator craft is so fun and easy to make, your kids won’t be able to resist getting creative! All you need is a paper lunch bag, some construction paper, a few other supplies and you’re ready to go.

Elephant Paper Plate Craft – Who doesn’t love a good elephant craft? This one is extra fun because it uses paper plates! Just imagine all the trunk-twirling and ear-flapping your kiddo can do with their very own elephant friend. Plus, they’ll get to paint, cut, and glue to their heart’s content. And when they’re done, you can hang their new creation on the fridge or even give it pride of place on the family bulletin board.

Lion Craft For Preschool – This lion paper craft is perfect for young kids to make. It’s easy and has a free template. Just print out the template, cut out the pieces, and glue them together. The finished product is sure to be a hit with your little ones.
