Directions
Start by downloading the butterfly template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this butterfly template to life!
Now, it’s time to bring our butterfly to life! Let your kids place the eyes above the mouth and secure them in place with glue.
Next, guide them as they add the antennae to the top and back of the butterfly’s head. This is where the magic begins!
Now, let’s add some flair to our butterfly wings. With your kids, take the oval butterfly wing decoration and stick it to the top part of both wings.
Then, position the circle butterfly wing decoration on top of the oval one, gluing them securely in place.
Time to make those wings pop! Encourage your kids to use the smaller ovals to create unique patterns on the wings. Let them explore different designs and have fun with this part.
As we bring our butterflies together, guide your kids to attach the stripes along the bottom part of the paper cup body. Once they’ve found the perfect placement, secure them with glue or double-sided tape.
It’s time for the final assembly! Help your kids glue the wings to the paper cup body of the butterfly and position them just right.
Lastly, let’s give our butterfly its final touch. Guide your kids as they take the butterfly head and carefully glue it to the top of the paper cup.
That’s it! Don’t forget to explore our other spring crafts for your kiddos while you’re here!
