Supplies
- Orange card stock
- White card stock
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Tiger template (download form located at the end of this page)
Directions
Download the tiger template, print, and cut out the pieces. Inside the template, there are two different head sizes for the tiger. One is small for little hands and one is big for larger hands. We used the small head size for my 4 year old.
Assemble the tiger’s face by gluing the white muzzle area to the middle of the tiger’s face. If you want, use a black marker to draw in the tiger’s inner ear.
Trace your child’s hand onto the same colored orange paper that you printed the head on. Cut out the handprint and position it with the palm up and the fingers pointed down. Use the black marker to draw on the tiger stripes.
We just did stripes along the top of the tiger’s back (the palm area of the hand) and along one side of each of the legs.
Make the tail by drawing stripes along it as well.
Glue the tiger’s head to the thumb side of the handprint.
Glue the tiger’s tail to the opposite side.
That’s it! Isn’t this handprint craft so simple?!

Like all our other crafts, we’ve given you an idea of what this craft can look like, but feel free to let your child use their imagination.
If they want a pink tiger or blue tiger, just switch out the paper and print on it. You can end up with a rainbow of colorful tigers!
We also added our stripes in different ways as well. You can have stripes coming from each side on the legs or just one. Make this handprint tiger any way you want.
One thing we’d change for little hands is the striping on the tiger’s tail. It would be better for kids to draw on their tiger’s tail stripes before cutting them out. It’ll take a lot more care to hold the small tail and draw on it, so don’t make the same mistake we did 🙂
