One of the best things about handprint crafts is there isn’t the big mess that there can be with handprint art! Instead of using paint, you’ll use paper and you won’t have to worry about little handprint around the house or classroom.
We also love this craft because besides the paper all you need are common craft supplies like markers, scissors, and glue.
That means this craft is simple and cheap!
Supplies
- Colored card stock (in pink and peach)
- Markers (in pink, dark pink, brown and black)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Pencil
- Pig template (download form located at the end of this page)
Directions
Download the handprint pig template, print and cut out the pieces.
Trace your child’s hand on a piece of pink paper and cut out the handprint.
Glue the pig head on the thumb side of the handprint.
Take the pig’s tail and glue it on the opposite side of the palm, near the pinky.
Finish the pig’s head by gluing on the peach nose just beneath the eyes, in the middle of the face.
Use the dark pink marker to draw the two large nose holes on the nose.
Use the light pink marker to draw two small oval cheeks on either side of the nose. Draw on the inner ears as well.
Use the black marker to draw on the pig’s hooves on the bottom of the fingers. To give it a more realistic look, use the scissors to cut a small triangle out of the fingers.
Use the brown marker to draw on mud spots all over the pig’s body and head.
That’s it! Isn’t this pig handprint craft super simple?!
