Easy Handprint Scarecrow Craft

Supplies

• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Pencil
• Black marker
• Scarecrow template (click the “click here to get this freebie” image at the end to open the form)

Directions

Start by downloading the scarecrow template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this crab to life!

First, guide your child to glue the eyes, one on each side, beneath the eyebrows.

Take the triangle nose and glue it in the middle of the face, between the eyes and mouth.

Place the cheeks at the end of the mouth and glue them in place.

Next, help your child to take the hat and glue it to the top of the scarecrow’s head.

Place the hat patch somewhere on the hat and glue it down. Use a black marker to draw stitching lines around it.

Glue the collar to the bottom and back of the scarecrow’s head.

Next, encourage your child to glue the shirt to the bottom and back of the collar. Position the buttons in the middle of the shirt and glue them in place.

Finally, trace both of your child’s hands onto a piece of yellow paper and cut them out. Position the handprints with the fingers facing out and glue them to the back and middle of the scarecrow’s head to create the hair.
