Directions
Start by downloading the bee template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this bee template to life!
Line up 10 popsicle sticks together. Take 3 additional popsicle sticks, cut them to fit the group of 10 popsicle sticks, and stretch 2 glue dots along each of them. Glue each of these popsicle sticks to the group of 10, one on top, in the middle, and on the bottom. If you don’t want to use glue dots, replace them with hot glue and do the same steps as above.
Grab those popsicle sticks and let the kids paint them with 1-2 thin coats of yellow paint. Once the paint is on, it’s time to let them dry completely.
Now that our popsicle sticks are all yellow and dry, it’s time to create the bee’s body. Guide your kids in placing the stripes along the main portion of the body, creating that classic bee look.
Take the eyes and show the kids how to carefully glue them above the mouth of our bee. These eyes will give our bee its adorable and friendly expression.
Next, it’s time for the antennae. Help the kids glue these delicate features to the back and top of the bee’s head.
With the body, eyes, and antennae in place, it’s time to assemble our bee. Guide the kids in gluing the completed head to the top portion of the body.
To complete our cute bee, show the kids how to carefully tape or glue the wings to the back and sides of the body.
