Christmas time is rapidly approaching and we couldn’t be more excited!
There’s almost a tangible holiday spirit in the air and it’s magical. To celebrate, we always have some sort of idea stashed away.
Today we’re sharing how to make this DIY reindeer headband craft, complete with a free printable template. It’s a fun and easy Christmas activity for kids!This printable headband would look adorable for a class Christmas party, for the kids at Christmas dinner, or any time during the holiday season!

Supplies
- Kraft paper or brown card stock
- Colored card stock (in pink, red, dark brown, and cream)
- Red glitter card stock (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Reindeer hat template (click the “click here to get your freebies” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading the hat template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this idea to life!
First, guide your child to glue the inner ears to the reindeer’s head.
Next, encourage your child to position the muzzle in between and slightly below the eyes and glue it in place.
Place the pink cheeks on either side of the muzzle and glue in place.
Glue the red glitter nose in the middle of the muzzle and glue the antlers on top of the reindeer’s head, one on each side.
Finally, help your child use glue to secure the headband extensions on either side of the completed head. Place the rectangles so the bottom lines up with the bottom of the head.

Reindeer Headband Craft For Kids

Materials
- Kraft paper or brown card stock
- Colored card stock
- Red glitter card stock optional
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Tape
- Reindeer template
Instructions
- Download the reindeer hat template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Glue the inner ears to the outer ears.
- Position the muzzle in between and slightly below the eyes and glue it in place.
- Glue the red glitter nose in the middle of the muzzle.
- Place the pink cheeks on either side of the muzzle and glue in place.
- Take the antlers and glue them to the back and top of the reindeer's head.
- Use glue or tape to secure the headband extensions on both sides of the completed reindeer head. Place the rectangles so the bottom lines up with the bottom of the reindeer head.
- Place on your child's head to see how big it needs to be, then use tape, a stapler, or a paper clip to secure the two ends together.

This is such a cute and easy craft. Thank you for the Template and Tutorial. I have it saved to my ‘Kids Crafts’ Board. The Reindeer Headband would be lovely for children to wear on Christmas Day instead of the paper crown hats that come in Christmas Crackers, as they are cuter and can be made to fit the child’s head, sometimes the paper crown hats are too big for kids and keep slipping off their heads. As you said they could be worn any time around Christmas especially when watching a Christmas movie or taking family photographs. An idea would be to personalise each headband with each Family members name along the side of the headband. Merry Christmas from Ireland xxx
