Directions
First things first, you’ll need the Thing 1 template. It’s super easy to get. Just click the “click here to get your freebie” image at the end of the post, download the template, and then send it straight to your printer.
Once it’s printed out, it’s time for cutting. Go ahead and carefully cut out all the pieces you need from the template. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect – it’s all part of the creative process!
Grab your disposable fork and two of your favorite blue acrylic paints. Squeeze them onto a paper plate, then dip the fork in the paint and paint the hair onto the background paper. The unique pattern created by the fork tines will add an interesting texture to your child’s masterpiece.
Next, we’re going to add some dimension to our project. Take the shirt cut-out and apply some glue to the back of it. Then, stick it onto the bottom of your painted background paper.
Now, it’s time to give Thing 1 a head! Apply some glue to the back of the head and gently attach the head cut-out to the top of the shirt piece.
Lastly, let’s not forget about the shirt label! Apply some glue to the back of it and press it firmly in the center of the shirt. There you have it, your very own Thing 1 is complete!
Remember, this is your child’s creation, so feel free to add let them add their own personal touches along the way. Art is all about expressing ourselves, after all. Enjoy the process and have fun!
That’s it! Kids will love creating this Painted craft by just using simple materials! For more cool crafts like this, be sure to check out our other favorite spring crafts to keep them entertained!
