How To Make A Crayon Hat

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape or stapler
- Crayons or markers (if using the color in version)
- Crayon template (click the “click here to get your freebie” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring the crayon to life!

First, encourage your child to take one of the crayon decoration pieces and glue it to the top and middle of the headband.

Next, take the second decoration piece and glue it slightly below the first one.

Now, help your child place the eyes in the middle of the head and glue them in place.

Finally, use the tape or a stapler to attach an extender on each side of the headband base. This handy addition will make sure your headband sits just right.

DIY Crayon Headband Craft For Kids
Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape or stapler
- Crayons or markers if using the color in version
- Crayon template
Instructions
- Download the crayon template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Take one of the crayon decoration pieces and glue it to the top, and middle of the headband. The wavy part should be on the bottom.
- Now, take the second decoration pieces and glue it slightly below the first one. This piece should have the wavy part on the top.

Oops, not the headband base, but the crayon decoration lines template.
I can print it on black paper and still see the lines, but the way you’re describing will work perfectly too!
The headband base says to print it on black paper. If you do that, you won’t see the lines to cut it out. I would suggest printing it on cardstock, cutting out the wavy lines, and use them to trace around with a white crayon or marker on the black paper.
