If you’ve ever read Dr. Seuss’s book Fox in Socks, you know it’s a real tongue twister! Reading it aloud to kids takes a lot careful pronunciation to get everything right.
Even though it’s a children’s book that takes a lot of effort to read, kids just love it! That’s exactly why the fox is so popular with kids and why we made this Fox in Socks paper plate craft!
It’s a fun Dr. Seuss craft where kids can let their artistic abilities shine. Download the free printable template and make it at home or in art class!

Begin by painting the paper plate in 1-2 thin coats of orange paint. Let it dry completely before moving on.

Place the Fox in Socks head template on the orange paper plate, trace it with a pencil, then cut the head out.

Glue the eyes slightly higher than the middle of the paper plate.

Use the black marker to draw on all the details on the fox’s head. Add lashes and under-eye lines, then draw on the eyebrows.
Finish off by color in the inner ears.

Optionally, outline the fox head with a thick, black line.

We love how this Dr. Seuss craft turned out! It’s fun to have the kids try to color in the face in an illustration style similar to the book.
