One thing that’s a Halloween tradition in our home is watching Spookley on Disney Jr. We stumbled upon it by accident almost 8 years ago and have watched it every year since!
Recently, we made this paper plate Spookley the Square Pumpkin craft to celebrate Halloween and these fun memories.
It comes with a printable template that makes it super simple to create with your preschool, kindergarten, and elementary-aged children!
Watch our quick video tutorial or read our directions below to learn how to make it at home. Also, check out all of our Halloween crafts for kids for more ideas!

First, guide your child to paint the paper plate in 1-2 thin layers of orange paint. Let dry completely before moving on.
Next, help your child to place the square pumpkin template on the dry paper plate, trace and cut it out.
Place his stem at the top of the paper plate and glue it in place.
Glue the eyes in the middle of the paper plate. If you want to define the eyes, trace the eyes with a thick, black marker.
Draw on Spookley’s eyebrows above the eyes and his mouth below the eyes.
Finally, encourage your child to position one leaf arm on each side of the paper plate and glue it to the back.
