This project is super cute and a fantastic way for children to think creatively while using fine motor skills, practicing hand-eye coordination, and building confidence.
To simplify it, we’ve created a free, downloadable template so your little ones can make their own “Ginger Pete.” Print it out, gather a few basic supplies, and let the kids have fun with some groovy holiday crafting!
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- White paint pen
- Pete the Cat Gingerbread Man template (unlock the image at the end of the post to go to the download page)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring the Pete the Cat Gingerbread Man to life!
First, encourage your child to glue the tail on the back and side of the body.
Next, help your child glue the tie on the neck.
Place the nose above the tie and glue it down.
Now, glue the eyes to the center of the face.
Glue the circle buttons to the middle part of the body.
Finally, guide your child to draw the icing lines on the arms, legs, and tail.
