Inside: The real meaning of Christmas. Plus, a Christmas free printable to hang on your wall.
Last night my eyes were opened.
It was as if I went from seeing vague, blurred outlines to crystal clear silhouettes.
Now I knew I could see.
There was no more worry about whether I’ll pick the best Christmas gift for my nephew. No worry about setting the picture perfect Christmas dinner table. And certainly no worry over what outfit to wear to the company holiday party.
Before last night these things were on the forefront of my mind. I was completely missing the mark on what makes the Christmas season joyful.
It’s not the gifts. It’s not the parties. It’s not the Christmas dinner.
It’s the Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the only reason we have Christmas.
As obvious as the simple fact is, I frequently find myself getting wrapped up in the “hype” of Christmas. I brush off the meaningful part; the part where we show our Savior that we are his followers.
We show it through our heart, our thoughts, and our actions.
And last night, while I was attending a local blogger’s Christmas event, I felt it in my heart. We watched this beautiful video on the topic that is a must watch. It’s short, articulate and heartwarming.
And it reminds us of one thing: Jesus Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Let’s remember Christ now during the Christmas season and every day after. I love the Christmas spirit and hope this freebie is a little reminder of the peace and happiness we can have here on this Earth. In times of joy or in times of hardship and sadness, we can know that our Savior is here for us.
I cherish that message.
