Inside: Download this paper gingerbread house free printable plus start a new family Christmas tradition
Yesterday I shared the printables I contributed to the #LIGHTtheWORLD Christmas campaign. Today, I’m bringing you another lovely printable creator, Maria from Designed By Maria.
When I saw her Christmas kit I couldn’t wait to share it with all of you!
Every year I want to make gingerbread houses as a family, but with young and rambunctious boys, it never quite happens. But Maria has the perfect solution to this:

A paper gingerbread house.
What’s even better is that she has a family-friendly lesson on serving others that’s perfect for creating a Christ-centered Christmas! It’s complete with a small lesson, an activity, and a service component. It would be perfect for a family home evening night or any night you want to have a little extra Christmas spirit.
A Christmas Themed Family Service Night
First up is a page that has a list of discussion questions about how Jesus served others and how we can serve others as well. You can dive deep into the scriptures if you have older children or adapt the questions for the youngest of kids. After your family is finished with the lesson then it’s time to move on the the gingerbread garland activity.
In this activity, you and your family discuss ways you can serve others around you. Once everyone has an idea, they pick their own gingerbread man (or woman) and attach them together. Each time anyone performs an act of service they get to attach another gingerbread man to the garland.
How To Assemble Your Paper Gingerbread House With Ease
Finally, there’s a delicious family service activity. All you need to do is download the paper gingerbread house and assemble it.
Then comes the best part: adding your own special goodies to the house to give to another family.
I’m not big into baking so I plan on filling mine with some Christmas candy, but if you love to be in the kitchen, home baked gingerbread man would be amazing! Once you have your treat, simply fill the house and deliver to someone special.
I hope you enjoyed this family activity as much as I did! If you use these printables, I’d love to see them; just use the #LIGHTtheWORLD on any social media.
