I love brainstorming kids birthday party ideas.

And by love I mean stress, cry, fret and obsess over parties. I honestly do enjoy it, but I may push myself past the necessary point to make sure I have everything perfectly done.

Are all of the party favors ready for gifting?

Is the food table as symmetrical as possible?

Did I give the guests are gate code?

Is everyone going to have a good time?

Is that a streamer out of place?!

This all, in turn, leads me back to the stress, cry and obsess part.

But you know why I do it?

For that awe-filled face.

You know the one I’m talking about. When the birthday kid walks into the room and has that all too quick, split second moment where there eyes take the whole scene in.

Those eyes just sparkle.

It’s like they’ve never seen anything so magical in their whole lives. And I (ok, really I always make my husband do a ton of the work too) was the one to make this moment come to life.

It’s a second in time I hope they can always remember when they’re all grown up and it seems like the world has lost excitement. And I want to share it with you so you can make those memories with your family!
