Camping Memory/Flashcards

We love playing memory with young kids. It’s not only an engaging game, but it’s also perfect for helping them learn to take turns and increase their working memory.

Memory games also strengthen concentration, boost problem-solving skills, and enhance visual recognition. They help build patience and perseverance as children work to find matching pairs. These skills are essential for early learning.

At home, you can print this PDF set out once to use as flashcards or two sets to play a matching game. For teachers, they’re an easy choice for small groups, partner work, or literacy tubs!

Camping Handwriting Practice

If your child is working on handwriting, these worksheets are a great option to print out and use. Slip them inside a plastic sleeve or laminate them to use over and over again with a dry erase marker, which makes prep simple for both parents and teachers.

These camp theme resources make handwriting practice more exciting while encouraging kids to develop muscle memory and hand-eye coordination as they trace.

Along with handwriting practice, we love these sheets for practicing the alphabet or reviewing letters in class in a hands-on, practical format. They give children more ways to work on letter recognition in a format that feels simple and manageable.

Camping Pre Writing Pages

Kids not yet ready for the handwriting pages? Try out these line mazes instead! They’re especially helpful for pre-writers in pre-K and kindergarten who are still learning how to hold a pencil and build a proper grip.

As children trace the lines, they’re strengthening the small muscles in their hands and getting more comfortable with the movements needed for writing later on. These camping-themed pages also give them a chance to practice focus, coordination, and pencil control in a simple way that feels manageable for early learners!

Download this scavenger hunt page and let kids color them in. Once they’re done, try to find all the items on the list together as a family. It’s a nice fit for children in preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten, whether you’re using it at home, in a classroom, or on a nature walk.

Your little ones will LOVE finding bugs and flowers in the great outdoors with this interactive activity. But don’t worry if they don’t find all the items on the printable! We like to look through books and chat about the ones we didn’t find once we’re back inside.

Label A Mosquito

This worksheet is simple, fun, and effective for teaching kids about mosquitoes. Have the kids color in the mosquito, then cut and paste the labels in the correct place on the page.

These pages are an easy way to add fun to any science lesson for your budding entomologist! Plus, teaching kids about insects like mosquitoes can make them less scary for kids while playing outdoors.

Camping Letter Mazes

These camp themed letter mazes are fun to use with do a dot markers or crayons. Simply let the kids make their way through the maze by following the letter at the top of the page. This is great for young children learning to recognize upper and lowercase letters.

Each maze gives children a chance to slow down and look carefully for the target letter on the page. That repeated practice helps strengthen letter recognition, build focus, and visual discrimination. Teachers can use these as part of a hands-on alphabet review in preschool-kindergarten!

Camping Themed Pattern Worksheet

We love including pattern worksheets in our bundles, and this camping themed one is another simple summer activity to print when your kids need something to do!

Pattern practice helps set the foundation for early math skills while also building logical thinking, visual discrimination, and attention to detail. Have fun practicing patterns with mugs and flashlights or tents and campfires. Then, create your own outdoor patterns together using twigs, leaves, and flowers.

Parents and teachers can cover the other rows if kids get easily distracted, so they can focus on one pattern at a time. Older children can also cut out the answer pieces themselves for extra scissor practice.

Camping Color By Letter

Color by letter worksheets are fun AND educational! Print this out for quiet time and let kids solve the hidden picture. They’re great to keep on hand for early finishers or quiet time in the classroom.

Coloring might not seem like much, but it really helps strengthen important early skills. These printable camping activities make it easy for kids to practice the alphabet, build color recognition, and work on manual dexterity while helping cement letter learning at the same time.

We especially love these printables because coloring feels low-pressure for kids, but there’s actually a lot of learning packed into the page!

Paper Strip Puzzles

We’ve also included 2 camp themed strip puzzles for the kids. We suggest laminating the pages first, then cutting the pieces out. This way, you can reuse them multiple times with kids at home or in the classroom, and teachers can add them to centers or quiet bins without them bending or tearing as easily.

These paper strip puzzles are great for problem solving! They’re also really easy to take along in a backpack while enjoying time outside together. You can occupy little hands around the campfire with these cute puzzles.

Camping Silhouette Matching

Finally, we’re sharing these silhouette matching pages. All you need to do is print them out, let the kids cut them (we love it when they work on those scissor skills!), and place them on top of the correct silhouette!

For younger learners, we like offering a few visual cues to help get them started. You might point out things like the pointy tree shape or the fish tail so they know what details to look for before matching each piece. Once they match a few pieces, they usually start spotting the shapes more easily on their own!
