Farm Unit For Kids
Continue on with the farm animal theme by creating a farm unit study for kids. Below we have some of our favorite ideas to get you started.
First, we suggest books. Reading aloud to children can help them increase their vocabulary and develop a love of reading. It’s also good for children’s attention span because they have to concentrate on the book instead of all the other things that are going on around them. For all those reasons and more, why not begin your unit by reading to your kids?
Below are some of the top farm books for kids.
Mr.s Wishy-Washy’s Farm is a classic farm animal books for kids. In this story, the animals revolt against Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s baths and leave the farm. You have to read the story to find out what crazy shenanigans the animals run into after they leave the farm!
Little Blue Truck is one of the most popular books in our house. The cool illustrations and rhyming words really make this story fun to read. And with a whole series after this one, kids love getting to know the characters more and more!
The Cow Said Neigh! is a fun and silly book about farm animals who wish they were another farm animal. Kids will enjoy the rhyming and learn that each of us (animals included) has strengths we should embrace.
Crafting with your kids or students is an excellent way to spend some time together while strengthening their fine motor skills and boosting their confidence! Add in some of our most popular farm crafts for kids:
Kids will have a blast with these printable farm color by number printables. They’re easy to use and no prep is required! Plus, they’ll work on fine motor skills and number recognition too.
The kids will love these farm animal printables that no prep is required. They can help with letter recognition, fine motor skills, counting, and more. And they’re just so much fun! Download them now to get your kids learning in a creative way today.
Let’s go back to basics. Give the kids something they can really get into, like these free printable sheep coloring pages so they feel creative again. This is a great boredom buster for when the kids are stuck indoors during bad weather or just need an educational break from school work!
If you want a simple sensory activity, try making this easy farm sensory bin. It’s great for kids to use their imagination and have a fun way to explore.
