Let’s take a piece of yellow card stock. Together with your child, fold it in half “hot dog” style, which means you fold it lengthwise. Now, grab that Pikachu head and place it on the folded yellow paper. Trace around it and cut the piece out.

Your kids can create Pikachu’s ears by gluing the black ear tip to the top of his yellow ears, and then carefully cutting off any excess paper. Once the ears look perfect, attach them to the back side of the card.

Now for some personality! Let’s glue the heart eyes towards the tops of the card front. Pikachu’s eyes are windows to his electrifying soul. To add a sparkle to his eyes, use scissors or a hole punch to create two circles from white card stock and glue them along the left side of each heart. You can also use a white out pen to draw the spots on his eyes.

Encourage your kids to make Pikachu’s mouth by gluing the pink tongue to the bottom of the dark red mouth, and then trimming off any excess. Once done, they can glue the finished mouth at the bottom of the card front, in between the eyes.

Then use the black marker to delicately draw a tiny black nose above his mouth.

Pikachu Valentine’s Day Card Notes

We created this card as a Valentine version for Valentine’s Day, but you could just as easily use it for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any other special day you can think of!

If you don’t want the cute little heart eyes, you can quickly swap them out for Pikachu’s standard black eyes. Simply cut out a small circle from black cardstock and glue a smaller white circle to the top. Now you and your little Pokemon trainer can use this card idea whenever you want!

We also want to remind you that if you don’t need a folded Pokemon Valentine card, then you can just make this a Pikachu craft. Instead of tracing Pikachu’s head on a folded piece of paper, just trace it on a flat one. You could even add a craft or lollipop stick to the bottom and make it into a fun puppet. How easy peasy is this Pokemon craft?!
