Thanksgiving is probably the number one underrated holiday in our home.
This year, we’re aiming to change that so we’ve created more Thanksgiving crafts for kids, including this pilgrim craft for preschoolers.
Like most of our crafts, it’s simple, made from paper and comes with a free printable template.
We’ve included both a boy and a girl version so you can make one or both!
Making these simple Thanksgiving inspired crafts will help your children follow through with directions, work on scissor skills and give them a boost in confidence once they’ve completed it.
Watch our video tutorial or read our directions below to see how to make this easy pilgrim craft for kids.

Directions
Download the pilgrim template, print and cut out the pieces you want to use.
Take the eyes and glue them in the middle of the face, on either side of the nose.
Glue the hair just above the eye line, in the middle of the head.
For the girl pilgrim, glue the front of the bonnet to the back of the bonnet. For the boy pilgrim, assemble the hat by gluing the hat decorations together and then gluing the band to the hat.
Take the completed bonnet or hat and glue on top of the pilgrim’s hair.
Make the mouth by gluing the tongue to the mouth and use scissors to trim off the excess. Glue the completed mouth in the middle of the face, just under the nose.
Finish off the pilgrim by gluing the collar to the shirt, then glue this completed shirt to the front of the pilgrim’s neck.
Now you have some cute pilgrim paper crafts!
Thanksgiving Unit For Preschoolers
To help keep your kiddos occupied and learning, we’ve gathered some of our favorite Thanksgiving activities and crafts to create your own Thanksgiving preschool unit.
Start off with math and fine motor skills when your child uses these Thanksgiving pattern block mats. Just print, laminate, and use with pattern blocks and you’ve got yourself a hands-on activity that’s filled with learning!
After that, brush up on fine motor skills with Thanksgiving color by number printables. They’re great for number recognition too!
Don’t forget how many skills crafting can help kids with – make any one of these fun and simple crafts:
If you need a simple quiet time activity for Thanksgiving, these Thanksgiving I Spy printables are great. You can also laminate these and reuse with dry erase markers!
