Learning to recognize letters takes practice, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring! These pumpkin letter mazes give preschool and pre-K kids a little puzzle to solve while they work on recognizing uppercase and lowercase P’s.
Each maze has a cute pumpkin at the top and a grid full of letters underneath. Kids have to find their way from start to finish by coloring or dotting only the squares with the letter P. Sounds simple, right? Those other letters might make them look twice!
These fall-themed pages are a nice addition to our preschool worksheets collection, especially if you’re working on the letter P with your kids.

Besides learning to recognize the letter P, kids will get to practice looking closely at letters, following a path, and using their fine motor skills. It’s a little different from the usual tracing and writing activities, which can be a nice change of pace.
There are four different mazes, so kids can try a new one each time they practice. Use them during fall literacy centers, for morning work, or whenever you need a simple activity that doesn’t take much preparation.

Kids will need to slow down and look closely at each letter to make sure they’re following the right path. As they color or dot the P’s, they’ll also get some fine motor practice. And there’s something pretty satisfying about making it all the way to the finish, especially when they’ve figured out the path on their own!
Here’s a tip: laminate the pumpkin letter mazes and pair them with dry-erase markers. They’ll be a fall hit year after year.

Fall Books For Kids
Fletcher and the Falling Leaves Fletcher the fox is worried when the leaves begin falling from his favorite tree, and he tries everything he can to save them. This sweet fall story helps preschoolers explore the changing seasons as Fletcher discovers a beautiful surprise waiting when autumn turns to winter.
Pete The Cat Falling For Autumn: Pete is not a fan of fall. But he decides to do some detective work and finds out that there are many things about this season he loves, like corn mazes, hayrides, wearing scarves, and apple picking! This story helps kids learn that even though they might not love every season of the year, there are still good parts to each one.
The Scarecrow Everyone stays away from the lonely old scarecrow until one tiny crow needs his help. This sweet fall story shows kids how an unexpected friendship can grow through kindness, caring, and the changing seasons.

Harvest Season Crafts
Crow Name Craft – AWhat’s cuter than a little black crow sitting on a fence? One that’s sitting on a fence with your child’s name on it! Kids get to put the letters of their names in the right order as they build the fence, then add their crow on top. I think these would look so cute lined up on a fall classroom bulletin board.
Fork Painted Pumpkin Craft – Put those paintbrushes away because this pumpkin gets its texture from a fork! Kids can dip the fork in orange paint and stamp away to make their pumpkin. Once the paint dries, they’ll add the face and other details. Don’t be surprised if they want to keep stamping even after their pumpkin is finished!

Paper Strip Apple Craft – It’s always fun when a few simple strips of paper turn into something completely different! For this apple craft, kids will use paper strips to create a round apple shape, then finish it off with a stem and leaf. They can make theirs red or green, or even make one of each. These would be cute hanging in a classroom during an apple unit!

Fall Hedgehog Craft – This little hedgehog looks like he’s having the best time playing in a pile of fall leaves! Kids will put together the hedgehog and colorful leaves to make their own fall scene. The best part is that they can choose different leaf colors, so every hedgehog can look a little different.
Fall Learning Printables
Apples are a great theme for preschool activities, especially when kids get to use scissors and glue! Our apple cut & paste worksheets have kids matching apple pictures, figuring out beginning sounds, sorting, and practicing counting. They’ll get to work on several early learning skills without doing the same type of activity over and over.
Who says pumpkins are just for carving? These pumpkin math worksheets put them to work helping kids with early math! Children can compare pumpkin sizes, count and graph pumpkins, and figure out which pumpkin comes next in a pattern. They’re a nice way to keep the fall theme going while adding some number practice.

Those little mushrooms you see popping up in fall make a cute theme for learning, too! With our mushroom worksheets, kids can search for the letter M, practice tracing, and work on patterns. If they’ve been practicing the letter P with these pumpkin mazes, this is an easy way to introduce another letter without switching away from fall activities.

Get the dot markers out because these fall leaves dot marker worksheets are a good excuse to use them! Kids will look for the letter L, count leaves, and fill in leaf pictures with colorful dots. You can even let them choose red, yellow, orange, or brown markers to make their pages look like fall leaves. It’s a simple activity that also gives those little hand muscles some practice.
