This robot turkey disguise craft gives our feathered friend a pretty convincing new identity for Thanksgiving! With his metal helmet, control panel, and colorful buttons, he looks ready for a robot adventure instead of Thanksgiving dinner. This paper craft is great for kids ages 6-8 and takes about 35-45 minutes to make.
If your kids are working on a disguise-a-turkey assignment at school, this is a fun way to give their turkey a completely different look. You can also browse our other turkey disguise projects for more creative ways to keep Mr. Turkey off the dinner table.

Robot Turkey Costume Printable
One of my favorite details is the little robot control panel on his belly. Kids can color the screen, buttons, and gauges however they like, then choose different colors for the feathers and robot accessories. The finished turkey has a funny mix of feathers and machinery that makes the disguise even better.
There’s plenty of hands-on work involved, too. Cutting out the helmet, arms, legs, and smaller control panel pieces gives kids practice with scissors, while arranging and gluing everything together works on fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
With the printable template to help with the shapes, kids can focus on putting their robots together and adding their own colorful details. It’s a cute November project for elementary classrooms, Thanksgiving craft time, or a turkey disguise display at school.

Directions
Start by printing the template, then gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this robot turkey to life!

Look for the eye pieces and glue them onto the turkey’s head.

Grab a red marker and draw the turkey’s snood below the eyes. This little detail helps give your turkey its classic look before adding the beak.

Take the beak and glue it onto the turkey’s head, just below the eyes.

Grab the helmet piece next and glue it onto the top of the turkey’s head. Line it up above the eyes so it looks like the turkey is wearing its very own robot helmet.

Glue the pom pom to the top of the helmet. This little detail makes the robot disguise even more fun!

Take the body panel and glue it onto the center of the body piece.

Grab the belt and glue it along the bottom of the body.

Glue the wings to each side of the robot body so they extend out from the sleeves.

Take the two leg pieces and glue them to the bottom and back of the body so they extend down below the belt. Try to space them evenly so the turkey can stand nice and straight.

Glue one foot to the bottom of each leg, then press them down firmly. The robot body is almost finished!

Glue the completed turkey head to the top of the body. Your turkey is officially starting to look like it has pulled off its robot disguise!

Finish the craft by gluing the robot turkey onto the center of the feathers so they spread out around the back of its body.

Kids can have fun creating their own robot turkey while building fine motor skills and learning how different pieces fit together to make a complete craft.

Thanksgiving Books for Children
Turkey Trouble – If you’ve never read this book, you have to add it to your holiday collection! It’s so cute and fun and kids just love it! Follow the turkey around the farm as he disguises himself as different animals so the farmer doesn’t catch him for Thanksgiving dinner!
How To Catch A Turkey – Kids who love the How To Catch books will want to see all the crazy contraptions kids make to try to catch a turkey loose at the school!
Pete The Cat: The First Thanksgiving -Every Pete the Cat book is fantastic, but this one takes it up a notch with flaps for the kids to open. It’s a great way to get the kids excited about reading and Thanksgiving!

Hands-On November Crafts
Baseball Turkey Disguise – This turkey thinks joining a baseball team is the perfect way to avoid becoming Thanksgiving dinner! Kids can dress him in a pinstriped uniform and baseball cap, then choose their favorite team colors to make him look like a real player. It’s a cute option for kids who would rather be on the baseball field than working on another traditional turkey craft.
Scarecrow Puppet Craft – There’s something about turning an ordinary brown lunch bag into a scarecrow that makes this project especially cute. Kids can add the scarecrow’s familiar fall details, and the best part is that the finished craft is actually a puppet! That means they can use it for pretend play after the scissors and glue are put away.

Mayflower Handprint Craft – Using your child’s handprint as one of the Mayflower’s sails is such a clever little detail. Kids get to trace their hands, cut out the shape, and turn it into part of a ship. It’s also a nice way to introduce some Thanksgiving history while making a keepsake that shows just how small their hands were that year.
Turkey Photo Craft – A turkey with your child’s face on it? That might be even funnier than the usual googly-eyed version! This craft swaps the turkey’s face for a photo of your kid, making each finished project completely personal. Just imagine a classroom bulletin board filled with turkeys that all have the students’ faces. It’s a cute display and a keepsake parents can save.
Turkey-Themed Fine Motor & Literacy Activities
Sometimes all it takes is a set of dot markers to make practicing letters a little more interesting. These turkey do a dot printables give kids a chance to fill in colorful dots while working on counting, letter T recognition, and fine motor control. The page where kids search for uppercase and lowercase T’s is an especially nice way to sneak in letter practice without another ordinary worksheet.
Can your kids figure out which Thanksgiving picture comes next in a pattern? These Thanksgiving worksheets include a cut-and-paste pattern activity featuring familiar fall pictures, along with a letter maze and turkey handwriting practice. There’s a nice mix of activities here for kids who enjoy solving little puzzles and using scissors.

Matching Thanksgiving pictures to their shadows is a little trickier than it first looks! These Thanksgiving activity sheetshave kids examining shapes to find the right match, following a maze, and counting and graphing holiday pictures. They’re a good choice when you want a few different activities to keep kids occupied during November.
If your kids have read Turkey Trouble, they’ll recognize exactly why a turkey might want to dress up as a cow! These Turkey Trouble worksheets build on that funny part of the story with a cow-labeling activity, letter B practice, patterns, and more. It’s a natural follow-up to reading the book, especially when you’re also making turkey disguises in the classroom.
