It’s a great activity for classrooms or just a fun afternoon at home when learning about snakes and their habitats. Plus, the headband is adjustable, making it suitable for kids of all ages and a great opportunity to combine creativity and learning.
To get started, grab a few common supplies and download our free snake template. Kids can bring their snakes to life with their unique designs and colors. They will be excited to customize their own snake and use their big imaginations once they’re finished.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue

Directions
Start by downloading the snake template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this snake to life!
First, encourage your child to glue the neck to the center of the headband base.
Next, help your child to take the head and glue it to the headband base.
Now, place the underside of the snake in the center and on top of the neck and glue it in place.
Position the eyes below the eyebrows and glue them in place.
Help your child glue the tongue in the center of the mouth.
Finally, tape the extenders on both sides of the headband base.
