Make this simple Valentine’s Day wreath craft for kids with a few inexpensive supplies and photo of your child. 

The Valentine season is nearly here and we’re all set to celebrate with some easy Valentine crafts for kids.

Today we’re taking a deliciously sweet twist on the classic macaroni wreaths for kids and turning it into a fun Valentine-themed craft for kids.

Photo Valentine Wreath Craft For Kids

Supplies

• Conversation heart candy
• Pink acrylic paint
• Craft Bond glue
• Pink baker’s twine (or string/ribbon)
• Photo of child
• 2.5″ circle punch
• Scrap piece of thin cardboard (like from a cereal box or toy box)
• Paintbrush
• White cardstock
• Heart template

Directions

Download the free printable heart template and print it out. Cut it from the paper and trace it onto a piece of scrap cardboard.

Choose your paint color and paint the entire cardboard surface that color. Of course, for Valentine’s Day we recommend shades of pink and red, but you can also use light blue, purple or any color your child wants! Let the paint dry completely before you move on to the next step.

Cut a piece of baker’s twine and loop it around to form a small hole. Use tape or glue (we prefer tape) to secure it to the back of the Valentine wreath.

Grab the picture of your child and cut out their face. We used a 2.5″ circle punch to make it look really nice and neat, but you can also use scissors if you don’t have a punch.

Use glue to glue the picture to the middle of the cardboard heart.

Next, take all your conversation heart candies and glue them around the heart. We tried to evenly space them, but with little kids doing it, you’ll probably end up with candies everywhere!

Using only a dab of glue is best for securing them to the cardboard. If you use too much, they slip and slide around and get real messy!

Let dry and you’re all done!

If you use only a bit of glue, it takes about 15-20 minutes to dry.

That’s all there is to it!

This Valentine craft is so simple and if you need to adapt it to even younger kids (think toddlers or preschoolers), you can have the cardboard hearts cut, painted and ready to go.

You can also choose to skip painting the cardboard heart and just leave it brown.
