Look for the eyes and glue them onto the basketball piece near the top center, placing them along the vertical line and just above the curved line.

Grab the mouth piece and glue it just below the eyes. Your basketball is already starting to show some personality, and kids will love seeing that big smile come together.

Take the pink cheeks and glue one on each side of the mouth. These little details make the basketball look extra cute and cheerful.

Grab a white marker and the background piece. Ask your child to trace over the dashed lines to create the basketball net, following each curve and crossing line.

Look for the starburst pieces and glue them above the basketball net on each side. You can use the basketball piece as a guide to help position them so they line up with the sides of the circle and peek out evenly.

Glue the completed basketball onto the background, placing it centered between the starburst pieces and slightly overlapping the basketball net.

Take the red rim piece and glue it across the lower part of the basketball. Then use a white marker to extend a few of the net lines slightly onto the basketball so it looks like the net is wrapping around it.

Basketball Craft for Kids

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Crayola Bold & Bright markers
  • Basketball Template

Instructions

  • Print the template and gather the materials for this fun activity.
  • Begin by gluing the eyes onto the basketball piece near the top center.
  • Color in the mouth piece and glue it just below the eyes.
  • Glue the cheek pieces on each side of the mouth.
  • Use a white Bold & Bright marker to trace the dashed lines to create the basketball net.
  • Glue the starburst pieces above the basketball net on each side.
  • Glue the completed basketball onto the background, centering it between the starburst pieces.
  • Use the white marker to extend a few of the net lines onto the basketball.
  • Finally, glue the rim piece across the lower part of the basketball.
