Brown paper bag
Colored cardstock or construction paper
Glue stick
Scissors

Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring cat to life!

First, guide your child to glue the eyes to the center of the face.

Place the nose below the eyes and glue it in place.

Now, use a Bold & Bright white marker to help your child draw the mouth of the black cat below the nose.

Draw the eyebrows on top of the eyes.

Glue the body to the main portion of the paper bag.

Hands secure the black paper body onto a brown paper bag to form the base of the cat puppet.

Position the feet on the bottom portion of the body and glue them in place.

Hands attach gray paper paws to the bottom of the black paper bag body while the finished cat head rests beside it.

Next, glue the tail on the back and right side of the body, in between the two sides of the bag.

Hands position a curled black paper tail beside the black paper bag body while the completed cat head rests nearby.

Finally, encourage your child to glue the head to the flap portion of the bag.

Materials

Instructions

Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
Color in the white part of the eyes with a yellow or lime green marker.
Glue the eyes to the center of the face.
Next, glue the inner ears to the outer part of the outer ears.
Place the nose below the eyes and glue it in place.
Now, use a Bold & Bright white marker or white paint pen to draw the mouth of the black cat below the nose.
Draw the eyebrows on top of the eyes as well.
Glue the body to the main portion of the paper bag.
Position the feet on the bottom part of the body and glue them in place.
Next, glue the tail to the back and right side of the body in between both sides of the paper bag.
Finish off by gluing the head to the flap portion of the paper bag.
