It’s great to suddenly be fashionable.
I’m not talking about myself, but my home state of Arizona. Sure, people love it in the winter when the high is still in the 60s or 70s, but now the southwestern style is really having its time in the spotlight.
Everywhere I look on Pinterest I’m being bombarded with images of cactus, leather, desert scenes, southwest textiles and more. And I’m loving it!
A while ago I posted a southwest inspired nursery for boys and now it’s the girls’ turn. This cactus nursery is totally on trend and mixes elements of southwestern style with modern and versatile pieces. The woven pendant light, the storage basket, the dresser, and the rocking chair all bring a warm, neutral base to the room. Meanwhile, the blush pink crib and the desert sky on the cactus print subtly hint that this room is more refined and girlish than most southwestern nurseries.
When you add in the white mudcloth pillows and the Moroccan-inspired rug, it’s apparent this nursery is wonderfully layered and globally inspired as well. Plus, the high-quality leather pillows add wonderful texture to this space.
I love the artistic take on the desert wall art too. It makes the desert seem chic and stylish (which I didn’t think was possible not too long ago).
All I can say is this cactus nursery for girls will easily grow into their young and not-so-young childhood years.
