They are the ones who make the gifts, after all. But most of the credit goes to Santa. Not today! Today, we’re showing you how to make this DIY elf headband craft for kids so they can dress up as cute Christmas elves from the North Pole!

Supplies
- Colored card stock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Tape or stapler
- Elf headband template (click the “click here to get your freebies” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this Elf Headband to life!
First, place any of the decorative accents on the elf hat. In our example, we used contrasting strips of paper. Glue into place.
Place the elf hat trim on top of the main hat piece and glue it in place.
Next, help your child glue the jingle bell or hat fluff to the end of the elf’s hat.
Take the completed elf hat and secure it onto the headband extender pieces (we used tape for this part).
Finally, encourage your child to add as many extenders as necessary to fit your kid’s head.

Elf Headband Craft For Kids

Materials
- Colored cardstock
- Glue stick
- Tape or stapler
- Scissors
- Elf headband template
Instructions
- Download the elf headband template, print it, and cut out the pieces.
- Start by gluing the stripes along the hat. Trim off any paper that hangs off the sides.
- Place the elf hat trim on the bottom of the main hat piece and glue it in place.
- Glue the bell or hat fluff to the tip of the elf's hat.
- Take the completed elf hat and secure it onto the middle of one of the headband extender pieces (we used tape for this part).
- Finish off by adding an extender to each side of the hat base with tape. Wrap the hat around your child's head to determine the size needed, take the headband off their head, then tape or staple it at the desired size.
