Directions
Download the handprint reindeer template, print and cut ou the pieces.
Fold a piece of kraft paper in half “hamburger” style and position your child’s left hand along the folded end so the pinky lines up with the fold. Trace the handprint and cut out.
Position the red reindeer harness just below where the thumb ends and glue in place. Cut off the excess pieces on each side.
Place three jingle bells evenly along the harness and glue in place.
Use the black marker to draw on the reindeer’s hooves.
Position the reindeer’s tail around where the harness is and glue behind the card.
Assemble the head by gluing the cream circle between the reindeer’s eyes.
Glue the tiny red pom pom in the center of the cream circle.
Position the brown antlers behind the head and glue in place.
Take the completed reindeer head on the thumb and glue in place.
We just love how these reindeer handprint cards turned out!
As you can see in our pictures and video, we used kraft paper. We think it not only looks the best, but it’s so thick that it makes the card really durable.
If you don’t have kraft paper, you can always substitute it for light brown card stock.

Making This Craft In The Classroom
Because we think these DIY Christmas cards would put a big smile on Mom and Dad’s faces, they make an excellent craft for the classroom!
Depending on the amount of adult assistance you have, they would be ideal for kids in preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, and elementary school.
Inside our free printable reindeer template, we’ve included two different types of templates.
If you’re making this reindeer craft at school, be sure to use the second template which has all the pieces organized by what color paper they are to be printed out on.

If the kids in your classroom are old enough to have the dexterity to cut out the pieces themselves, there’s almost no prep work.
If, on the other hand, they don’t have the necessary cutting skills they need, be sure to plan out time to cut out the pieces ahead of time.
Although this craft is super simple, to begin with, there are one or two ways to make it even simpler!
Instead of gluing the reindeer’s harness onto the body, younger kids may prefer to color on the harness with a marker.
If the tiny reindeer tail is too difficult to cut out, you can skip it altogether.
While we love the 3D effect the small red pom pom nose brings to the craft, you can also simplify this part by drawing it on. You don’t even need to use the cream muzzle part if you don’t want to; Just draw on a big, red (or black) nose with a marker between the eyes!
However you decide to adapt this craft to the students in your class, we’re sure they’ll enjoy making it and the parents will love receiving it!!!
