Paper Plate Gingerbread Man Craft [Free Template]

It’s Christmastime, and we’re so excited about all the extra time together as a family! Build some great memories with the kids when you make this paper plate gingerbread man craft.

Gingerbread Man Paper Plate Craft For Kids

Let the kids paint, cut, and glue their gingerbread girl or boy craft or use a brown party plate to skip the painting part. This simple craft is ideal for preschoolers, pre-k, and kindergarten-aged children at home (or in the classroom).

Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this gingerbread to life!

First, guide your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. If you want to skip this step, use brown party plates instead.

Place the icing hair on the top of the paper plate and glue it into place. Make sure you use enough glue on the ridges to make it stick.

Glue the eyes just beneath the hair.

Next, help your child to glue the cheeks below the eyes on both sides.

To make a gingerbread boy, glue the bow tie at the bottom of the plate. To make a girl gingerbread, glue the bow on her hair.

Finally, encourage your child to draw a smile between the two cheeks with the black marker.
