Kids have a natural curiosity about the world. This is great because kids are always asking questions (even if we wish they would stop sometimes!).

One question kids ask all the time is “What should I be when I grow up?” A doctor? A baker? A scientist?

Kids love community helpers so we made this doctor paper bag puppet craft that’s perfect for a classroom activity or a rainy day at home.

Kids will love this paper bag puppet craft because it’s fun and imaginative.

With the free printable template, it’ll be a breeze to make. Let your child’s imagination run wild as they pretend to be a doctor!

Doctor Craft

Supplies

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Doctor template (click the “click here to get your freebie” image at the end of the post to sign up)

Directions

Download the doctor template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Take the hair and glue it to the top of the head.

Create the body by gluing the pants to the bottom of the shirt piece.

Next, place the shoes at the bottom of the pants and glue them down.

Create the doctor coat by gluing the sides to the doctor’s body.

Glue the completed body to the base of the brown paper bag.

Place the completed head on the flap portion of the brown page and glue it down.

Create the head mirror by gluing the outer head mirror to the mirror band. Next, glue the inner mirror to the center of the outer mirror.

Position the completed head mirror in the middle of the hair and glue it in place. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the sides.

Make the arms by gluing the hands to the arms.

Finish up by gluing the arms to the sides of the paper bag.

Doctor Paper Bag Puppet Craft

This fun paper bag puppet is a great way to teach kids about community helpers. Let your child's imagination run wild as they pretend to be a doctor!

Materials

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Doctor template

Instructions

  • Download the doctor template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Take the hair and glue it to the top of the head.
  • Create the body by gluing the pants to the bottom of the shirt piece.

  • Create the doctor's coat by gluing the sides to the doctor's body.
