If you’ve been following along, you know we’re in the middle of a series of dinosaur activities for kids.
So far we’ve made a cute dinosaur handprint art keepsake, experimented with a dinosaur STEM activity, and created a fun dinosaur world sensory bin for creative play.
Today, we’re sharing one of our all-time favorite activities:
Coloring.
Download these free printable dinosaur coloring pages the next time your kids say they’re bored!
We do a ton of coloring around our house because it’s something we all enjoy. But these dinosaur coloring pages are the perfect complement to our dinosaur series.
Read on below to see them in action and download your free copy.
Also, be sure to check out all of our dinosaur activities for more ideas.
Baby Dinosaur Coloring Pages

These dinosaur coloring sheets are perfect for preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten-aged kids, although my second grader had fun coloring them too. And, let’s face it -I had fun as well!

But what makes these dinosaur printables perfect for young kids are the large, open spaces and the handwriting practice at the bottom of each page.

Here, little learners will be able to practice their fine motor skills and work on their handwriting, while learning each dinosaurs’ name.
So go ahead and cross two things off your list- fun, and learning- all at once!

Dinosaur Unit For Kids
Don’t let all the fun stop here! Create an entier dinosaur unit study for kids that will help them learn and that they’ll enjoy.
First, we always recommend starting a new unit with books. They’re great for introducing a new topic, plus reading aloud to kids can help improve their vocabulary and help them learn to read easier.
Never Let A Dinosaur Scribble! – A little boy heard people say, “Never let a dinosaur scribble!” but he just couldn’t help himself. He gives his dinosaur a crayon and lets the dinosaur go. What will happen?! Kids will be waiting on pins and needles to see the ending.
How To Catch A Dinosaur – If your kids are into STEAM activities, they’ll love this book that has the same group of kids trying to create crazy contraptions to catch a dinosaur!
Tiny T. Rex And The Impossible Hug – Not only does this book have adorable illustrations, but it’s also a great book to help kids learn kindness!

We also love crafting! Not only is crafting enjoyable for kids, but it also can help kids develop greater fine motor skills, the ability to follow directions, and more!
This handprint dinosaur card craft is a fun papercraft that uses your kids’ handprint to make a triceratops. It’s at the top of our list for dino crafts!
For an educational activity, try these free dinosaur printables. You’ll get a dinosaur life cycle poster, worksheet, label a triceratops worksheets, and more.

Need a simple activity? Download this dinosaur theme preschool memory game and play it with your kids. It’s also great to help kids with visual discrimination and working memory!
These dinosaur pattern block mats are a great STEM activity that will help young kids work on fine motor skills, learn shapes, and recognize patterns.
