Hide the Turkey Idea
The best part of this craft is that the turkey really looks ready to put on a show. Between the tuxedo jacket, bow tie, tall hat, and wand, he’s definitely committed to the part. I also like that there are two bright color options, which makes it feel a little more fun than the usual brown Thanksgiving craft.
This one is also nice for practicing cutting and gluing without feeling too tricky. Kids have several separate pieces to put together, so they get to slow down, pay attention, and build the costume step by step. It’s the kind of craft that keeps their hands busy while still leaving room for plenty of personality.
Because it uses simple paper pieces, this is an easy choice for a classroom craft or a festive afternoon at home. And once the turkeys are finished, they look like they belong in their own tiny Thanksgiving magic show.

Directions
Start by printing the template, then gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this magician turkey to life!

Look for the turkey’s head and glue the eyes onto it, placing them side by side near the top and leaving enough room underneath for the beak.

Use a red marker and let your child color the turkey’s snood on the lower part of the head.

Take the beak piece and glue it below the eyes, slightly overlapping the snood.

It’s time to give our turkey a magician’s hat! Glue the hat onto the top of the turkey’s head, positioning the brim just above the eyes.

Take the hat band and glue it across the lower part of the hat, just above the brim. This little detail makes the top hat look extra fancy!

Let’s work on the magician’s outfit! Grab the pants and shirt pieces, then glue the shirt onto the upper part of the pants, lining up the edges so the buttons are centered.

Glue the cummerbund piece across the middle of the outfit, just below the shirt’s buttons. Help your child line it up with the sides of the pants to create a neat magician’s costume.

Grab the two feet pieces and glue them behind the bottom of the pants, one on each side.

Look for the two suit pieces and glue one onto the left side and the other onto the right side of the shirt and pants, leaving the buttons and cummerbund visible in the center.

Let’s add some fancy details! Use a bold & bright marker and help your child draw the lapel lines on both sides of the suit.

Take the two wings and glue one behind each side of the suit, positioning them so they peek out from underneath the sleeves. These will give our magician its little turkey hands!

Every magician needs a dramatic cape! Grab the cape piece and glue the assembled outfit onto its center, leaving the cape visible along the sides and bottom.

Glue the completed turkey body onto the center of the feather piece, leaving the rounded feathers visible along the top and sides. This colorful addition makes our turkey magician look even more magical!

Glue the turkey’s head above the shirt, overlapping the top of the suit slightly. Make sure the face is centered so our magician looks ready for the big show!

Take the bowtie and glue it just below the turkey’s head, covering the top of the shirt. This finishing touch gives our little magician a stylish look!

Finally, glue the magic wand piece diagonally over one of the turkey’s wings, with the white tip pointing upward.

Abracadabra! Your child’s turkey has transformed into a fancy magician, and all that cutting, gluing, and arranging helps build hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills along the way.

Hands-On Thanksgiving Crafts
Fireman Turkey Disguise: A turkey dressed as a firefighter is a pretty solid plan if he wants to look brave and busy. This one has all the fun costume details that make disguise crafts so entertaining, and it’s easy to imagine kids getting a kick out of turning their turkey into the hero of the station.
Stuffed Paper Bag Turkey Craft: Some crafts are cute, and some are cute and puffy. This stuffed paper bag turkey definitely falls into the second category. The bag gives it a fun 3D look, which makes it feel a little different from a standard flat paper craft and a little more exciting to set out on display.

Wizard Turkey Disguise: A magician might pull a rabbit out of a hat, but this turkey is going all in on actual magic! Kids can transform their feathered friend into a wizard wearing a pointy hat, long white beard, and colorful robe. Adding shiny star stickers to the costume is such a fun detail, especially for kids who want their turkey to look ready to cast a spell.
Pete the Cat Thanksgiving Craft: Pete the Cat already has plenty of personality, so giving him a Thanksgiving look just makes sense. This craft is a fun pick for kids who already know the character, and it has that familiar mix of cute and quirky that makes Pete the Cat projects so easy to like.
November Worksheets & Games
Letter mazes are one of those activities that feel more like a puzzle than schoolwork. These Thanksgiving letter mazes have kids searching for the correct letters to make their way through each page, which is a nice way to work on letter recognition without it feeling repetitive.

A memory game is such an easy win when kids need something simple but still fun. These Thanksgiving memory game printables give them a chance to flip over cute holiday cards and see how many matches they can remember. It’s the kind of activity that gets surprisingly competitive in the best way.

This set of Run, Turkey Run activities has a little bit of everything, which makes it especially useful. Between the flashcards, maze, line tracing, patterns, and dot marker page, there’s enough variety to keep kids interested instead of feeling like they’re doing the same thing over and over.
Pilgrim worksheets can sound a little plain until you realize there’s a letter maze and labeling activity mixed in. These pilgrim worksheets give kids a few different ways to practice early learning skills while sticking with the Thanksgiving theme, and that variety makes the whole set more fun to pull out.
