Easy Witch Craft For Kids

Kids will have cauldrons of fun when they create this cute paper witch by layering basic shapes like triangles for the hat, circles for the face, and rectangles for the arms and legs. Then they’ll be so excited to proudly display their new Halloween decoration either at home or in the classroom.

This Halloween shapes lesson will also help children strengthen their fine motor skills, practice hand-eye coordination, and reinforce early math concepts. Plus they can stretch their creativity as they choose the colors and assemble their witch.

Directions

Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this witch to life!

Grab the eye pieces and glue them onto the round green head.

Once the eyes are in place, you can use a green marker to draw a nose on the witch’s head to finish her face.

Now, help your kid create the witch’s hair by taking a pair of scissors and cutting fringes into the bottom of the hair piece.

Next, take the round head and glue it to the hair.

The witch needs a hat! Glue the rectangular base of the hat to the bottom edge of the hat piece.

Add a pop of color to the hat by gluing the hat band to the middle of the hat. Trim off the excess paper.

Now you can glue the finished hat onto the witch’s head.

Help your kids dress up the witch! Glue the finished head on top of the triangular dress.

Now for the witch’s arm. Help your little one glue the black sleeves to the black paper dress.

Glue the green arms to the back of the black sleeves, so it peeks out from behind. This little detail makes your witch really come to life!

Witch Shape Craft

Make learning fun this Halloween! This witch shape craft is a simple way for kids to practice identifying triangles, rectangles, and circles while creating a festive character.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker
  • Witch Shape Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Next, take the eyes and glue them onto the head.
  • Draw an oval nose in between and near the bottom of the eyes.
  • Now, create the witch's hair by cutting fringes into the bottom part of the hair piece.
  • Next, glue the round head on top of the fringed hair.
  • Glue the hat base to the bottom edge of the hat
  • Place the hat band on the hat, glue in place, then trim off the excess paper.
  • Now, glue the finished hat onto the top of the head.
  • Next, glue the head on top of the dress.
  • Attach the black sleeves to both sides of the dress.
  • Glue the arms to the back of the sleeves so they peek out from behind.
  • Finally, glue the legs to the back and bottom of the dress.
