Nutcracker Hide The Turkey Idea
This nutcracker turkey costume brings lots of imaginative fun to Thanksgiving celebrations. The turkey’s new uniform, boots, and tall hat will help it march right past the dinner table and into safety.
Making this disguise is a great workout for your little turkey’s mind and hands. They get to use their imaginations and creative thinking, coming up with their backstory and disguise, and hone their fine motor skills as they cut and paste everything together.

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue

Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this nutcracker turkey to life!

Look for the hat and its decoration piece. Glue the decoration right at the bottom of the hat. This instantly makes it look like the Nutcracker’s iconic tall soldier hat.

Grab the eye pieces and glue them onto the turkey’s eyebrows.

Glue the beard piece right under the turkey’s eyes.

It’s time to give the turkey its classic look! Take the red snood and glue it onto the turkey’s face, right below the eyes.

Now, take the yellow beak and glue it right in the middle of the turkey’s face, just between the eyes.

Glue the finished hat onto the top of the turkey’s head. Now it’s really starting to look like a nutcracker in disguise!

Time to give the turkey its nutcracker uniform! Glue the finished head onto the turkey’s body.

Find the yellow belt buckle and glue it on top of the black belt.

Glue the turkey’s wings onto the sides of the red uniform, right where the arms would go. Line them up so they stick out just right.

Grab the blue leg pieces and glue them to the back and bottom of the red uniform.

Now add the black shoes by gluing them to the bottom of the legs.

Now to complete the disguise! Take the completed nutcracker and glue it to the middle of the feathers.

Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Nutcracker Turkey Disguise Template
Instructions
- Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Start by gluing the hat decoration onto the bottom of the hat.
- Next, glue the eyes under each eyebrow.
- Then, glue the beard just under the eyes.
- After that, add the snood right below the eyes.
- Now, glue the beak in the middle of the face, on top of the snood.
- Place the finished hat on top of the turkey’s head and glue it down.
- Attach the completed head to the body.
- Glue the belt buckle onto the belt in the center of the uniform.
- Add the wings to the sides of the uniform, gluing them to the back of the sleeves.
- Glue the legs to the back and bottom of the uniform.
- Then, glue the shoes to the front and bottom of the legs.
- To finish, glue the nutcracker to the middle of the feathers.
